Volleyball Recap: Palmyra Panthers vs. Yutan Chieftains
After flying high against Weeping Water on Thursday, Palmyra came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Yutan Chieftains on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Chieftains recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Palmyra took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-11, 25-20.
Grace Green paced Palmyra's offense, picking up five kills. Green got some help from Audrey Erhart and her 12 assists.
Allison Kirchmann was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 11 digs and three assists. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven matches.
Palmyra's defeat dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Yutan, they pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Palmyra has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Syracuse on the 27th. As for Yutan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Shelby-Rising City on the 28th.
