Softball Recap: Towanda Takes a Loss

Towanda has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 13-4 to the South Williamsport Mountaineers. The defeat continues a trend for the Black Knights in their meetings with the Mountaineers: they've now lost four in a row.

Brooklyn Evans made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Brynsen Vargason was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Towanda's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for South Williamsport, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Towanda will venture away from home to square off against Wyalusing Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Williamsport, they will head out to face off against Jersey Shore at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
