Recap: Sharpstown Apollos vs. Sterling Raiders
The Sharpstown Apollos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Sterling 80-40. Sharpstown has not had much luck with Sterling recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Sharpstown's loss came despite strong showings from Kobe Hines and Kunye Ward. Hines scored 19 points, while Ward scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds. The matchup was Hines' fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Among those leading the charge was Henry Beteta, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Rogers, who scored 13 points.
Sharpstown's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Sterling, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 4-2 record.
Sharpstown is on the road again on Thursday and play against Beaumont United at 8:00 a.m. on November 30th. Beaumont United presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sharpstown in Texas (Beaumont United is ranked 29th, while Sharpstown is ranked 1241st). As for Sterling, they will head out on the road to face off against Austin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
