Softball Recap: Wheeling Park Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Wheeling Park dropped their record down to 7-8 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell 7-4 to Washington. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Wheeling Park of the 10-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Grace Tamburin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brenna Tipton, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

As for Washington, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games.

On Washington's side, the team relied heavily on Addison Sloan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Sloan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Bibb, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Wheeling Park has already played their next contest, a 1-0 defeat against Parkersburg South on the 15th. As for Washington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Ravenswood on the 12th.
