Baseball Recap: Marion County Comes Up Short

Marion County lost against Chattanooga Christian last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Marion County Warriors came up short against the Chattanooga Christian Chargers, falling 10-2. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eli Blevins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Tipton, who got no hits from his two at bats.

Marion County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Chattanooga Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion County will take on Cascade in a tournament on Thursday. One thing working in Cascade's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Chattanooga Christian, they will challenge Red Bank at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chattanooga Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Red Bank's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
