Softball Recap: St. Francis Takes a Loss

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, St. Francis was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against the Greenfield Bruins, falling 14-2. The Sharks were not able to make up for their loss to the Bruins from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

St. Francis is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.8 runs this season. As for Greenfield, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Francis will challenge Pajaro Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Sharks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grizzlies have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Greenfield, they will square off against Seaside at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.2 runs per game on average), something the Bruins will no doubt try to take advantage of.
