Baseball Game Preview: Butler Bulldogs vs. Pro Stock Royals Academy Royals

The Butler Bulldogs will face off against the Pro Stock Royals Academy Royals at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Butler is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

In Saturday's Canine Competition, Butler came out on top. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Ballantyne Ridge on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Jackson Clark looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Butler let Chase Decurtis and Amir Carter run wild. Decurtis scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Carter scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Carter a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Greyson Sheaffer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Butler was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Pro Stock Royals Academy owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They came out on top against Independence by a score of 4-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Royals as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Pro Stock Royals Academy also got a great performance from Israel Brown as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Luke Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.

Butler's record now sits at 7-12. As for Pro Stock Royals Academy, their record is now 9-6.
