Baseball Recap: Whittier Christian Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Whittier Christian and Heritage Christian meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Heralds took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Heralds were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Whittier Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Gallegos, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Whittier Christian has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage Christian, their record now sits at 17-7-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Warriors beat Whittier Christian by a score of 1-0 on Friday.
