Recap: Crooms Academy Panthers vs. Trinity Christian Academy Eagles
The Crooms Academy Panthers waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They snuck past Trinity Christian Academy with a 57-53 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Crooms Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Crooms Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyrell Johnson out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Johnson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. D'Elio Cestero was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
The victory got Crooms Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crooms Academy will take on Halifax Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Circle Christian at 7:00 p.m. Circle Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.8 points per game.
