Volleyball Recap: Dunnellon Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Dunnellon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Central Bears, falling 3-0. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Bears when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dunnellon was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-16, 25-18.

Keilyn Collazo paced Dunnellon's offense, picking up five kills. Collazo got some help from Taytym Simonsen and her seven assists. Finally, Cecelia Gibbs kept Dunnellon's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Dunnellon's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Central, the victory snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 8-14 record.

Dunnellon has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Crystal River on the 6th. As for Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Hernando on the 6th.
