Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Trinity + How To Watch

Trinity had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Providence Grove Patriots. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Trinity had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-6, 25-21, 25-14.

Trinity's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avalynn Johnson, who had 46 assists and nine digs. Johnson has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more assists the last 38 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Charlee Phillips, who had 17 digs and three aces.

Trinity was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive matchups.

When it comes to explaining why Providence Grove lost, don't look at Callie Hodges. Despite the final result, she had 35 digs.

Trinity picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-9. As for Providence Grove, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7.

Trinity has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Central Davidson on the 15th. As for Providence Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against East Davidson on the 16th.
