Baseball Recap: Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Takes a Loss

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Canby on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 9-7. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Noah Knakmuhs and David Schuh did some serious damage despite the final result: Knakmuhs went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double, while Schuh went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Knakmuhs is becoming a predictor of Tracy-Milroy-Balaton's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 3-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Kevin Vasquez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Canby, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton will face off against Minneota at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canby, they will take on Yellow Medicine East at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
