Baseball Recap: David Anderson Takes a Loss

David Anderson lost against United back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Blue Devils fell 5-2 to the Golden Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by exactly three runs.

Brady Carpenter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because David Anderson is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-4 otherwise.

At the plate, David Anderson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Hinchliffe, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

David Anderson is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. As for United, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

While David Anderson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
