Basketball Recap: Grand Canyon Takes a Loss

Grand Canyon lost against Williams back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Grand Canyon Phantoms took a hard 57-38 fall against the Williams Vikings. The Phantoms have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Grand Canyon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tristan Lambon went 9-for-22 en route to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Mase Begay, who posted seven points in addition to five rebounds and four blocks.

Grand Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Williams, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Grand Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Williams, they have already played their next contest, a 61-57 loss against Joseph City on the 7th.
