Baseball Game Preview: Aransas Pass Panthers vs. Mathis Pirates

Aransas Pass took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over George West. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Mathis had taken Odem down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Pirates fell just short of the Owls by a score of 5-4.

Brandon Reed made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Aransas Pass' win bumped their record up to 7-11-1. As for Mathis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
