North Country Union waltzed into their game on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They breezed by the Montpelier Solons to the tune of 72-13. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Vermont basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Solons are ranked 47th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Country Union's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.9 points per game. As for Montpelier, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

North Country Union will head out to take on Peoples Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. North Country Union's defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so Peoples Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Montpelier, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
