Volleyball Recap: Kent Denver Comes Up Short

Kent Denver was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Stargate School Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sun Devils of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Kent Denver was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Anya Schayes and Austin Duncan, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Regan Tierney and her 11 assists. Duncan also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Marissa Garcia, each putting up three.

Kent Denver's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Stargate School, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-1.

Kent Denver wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Peak to Peak on the 30th. As for Stargate School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Denver Christian on the 25th.
