Baseball Recap: Louis E. Dieruff Victorious

The third road match was the charm for Louis E. Dieruff, as they earned their first away win of the season. They came out on top against the William Allen Canaries on Tuesday by a score of 4-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted against the Canaries since April 6, 2021.

Jean Varela made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Varela was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Bryan Dejesus was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Cy Oliver, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Louis E. Dieruff's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for William Allen, their record now sits at 1-7.
