Football Preview: Moscow Wildcats vs. South Barber Chieftains

The Moscow Wildcats have the luxury of staying home for another week and will welcome the South Barber Chieftains on Friday.

Moscow is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 52 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Weskan on Friday. They took a blow against the Coyotes, falling 62-6. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Meanwhile, after only six points in their last matchup, South Barber made sure to put some points up on the board against Otis-Bison last Friday. South Barber enjoyed a cozy 37-19 victory over Otis-Bison. The Chieftains pushed the score to 29-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

South Barber found their leader in underclassman Austin Swonger, who rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 76 yards and two touchdowns. Swonger also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making 18 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Moscow now has a losing record at 1-2. As for South Barber, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
