Baseball Recap: Mount Anthony Wins High-Profile Contest Against Drury

Mount Anthony is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Drury. The Patriots came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 6-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Colby Hill was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sean Moriarty, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Jacoby Dicranian was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Mount Anthony's record is now 5-2-1. As for Drury, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Anthony will challenge Lyndon Institute at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Drury, they will venture away from home to challenge Smith Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
