Basketball Game Preview: Highland Rams vs. East Leopards

The Highland Rams will challenge the East Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Highland is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Alta, who was ranked 14th at the time (Highland was ranked seventh). Highland enjoyed a cozy 64-50 win over Alta on Tuesday. The Rams pushed the score to 56-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hawks cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-59 heartbreaker at the hands of West. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Leopards have suffered since December 13, 2024.

Highland is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for East, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Highland strolled past East in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 61-44. Will Highland repeat their success, or does East have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
