Volleyball Recap: Somerset Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

After losing to Tyrone the last time they met, Somerset decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Thursday.

Somerset had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-13, 25-19, 25-12.

Reagan Holmes paced Somerset's offense, picking up 15 kills. Holmes got some help from Elly Fletcher and her 15 assists. Finally, Eve Housley kept Somerset's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Somerset has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 20-5-1 record this season. As for Tyrone, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Coming up, Somerset will face off against Greater Johnstown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tyrone, they will challenge Penns Valley Area at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
