Game recap: Cheshire Academy high school football team leaps out of the gate in victory over Williston Northampton

Cheshire Academy (Cheshire, Conn.) jumped out to an early lead against Williston Northampton (Easthampton, Mass.) and never looked back on the way to a 35-21 victory on Saturday.

The Cats put up 14 points in the opening frame. Cheshire Academy scored on a passing touchdown and a touchdown run.

CA was up 28-7 at the half after taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter.

The Cheshire school expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. The Cats scored once in the quarter on a rushing touchdown.

The Wildcats' DonQuale Williams played well. The senior caught one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.



Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 48-0 win for Cheshire Academy.

The loss comes after Williston Northampton defeated Gunnery 17-8 last week. With the win CA extended its winning streak to four games.

Williston Northampton (2-2) will play a Colonial game against Wilbraham & Monson Academy next week, while Cheshire Academy (4-0) will take on Suffield Academy also in a Colonial game.
