Basketball Game Preview: Eminence Eels vs. Riverside Argonauts

Eminence hasn't had much luck against Riverside recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eminence Eels are taking a road trip to square off against the Riverside Argonauts at 6:00 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-22, which was the final score in Eminence's tilt against Indianapolis Metropolitan on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Eels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 434th, while the Pumas are ranked 123rd).

Meanwhile, Riverside didn't have too much breathing room in their game against KIPP Legacy on Friday, but they still walked away with a 55-49 win. The Argonauts haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Riverside pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points over those games. As for Eminence, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-15.

Eminence was taken down by Riverside 88-25 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Eminence was down 51-12.
