Softball Recap: Lewis Cass' Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

Lewis Cass not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2024 (when they won 17-6). They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Northfield Norsemen. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Kings also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Ruth (Amma) Fitzhugh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Kaitlyn Benner was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kami Silcox, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Lewis Cass kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northfield only managed five hits.

Lewis Cass' win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9. As for Northfield, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Lewis Cass didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Manchester on the 15th. As for Northfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-1 loss against Southwood on the 14th.
