Basketball Game Preview: Hagerstown Tigers vs. Fountain Central Mustangs

The Hagerstown Tigers will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Fountain Central Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hagerstown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.

Hagerstown is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monroe Central. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Golden Bears are ranked 80th).

Despite their loss, Hagerstown saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Landon Lawson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 boards, was perhaps the best of all. Lawson has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaagen Kendall, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 20 points.

Meanwhile, Fountain Central posted their biggest win since February 6th on Saturday. They blew past Attica 51-22. The Mustangs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

With the victory, Fountain Central broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4. As for Hagerstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
