Baseball Recap: Zachary Comes Up Short

If Zachary was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of South Terrebonne last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Zachary Broncos fell just short of the Dutchtown Griffins by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Griffins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Zachary's loss dropped their record down to 10-10-1. As for Dutchtown, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Zachary will be playing in front of their home fans against University Lab at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Zachary 3.1, University Lab 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Dutchtown, they will take on Prairieville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dutchtown's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Prairieville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
