Preview: Adamson Leopards vs. Jefferson Patriots
Adamson has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Jefferson Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Adamson suffered their biggest loss since November 10, 2023 on Wednesday. They were beaten by Wilson 99-28. Adamson has struggled against Wilson recently, as their match on Wednesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Adamson's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Arturo Perez, who scored seven points along with two steals, and Hiram Pinion who scored four points.
Meanwhile, Jefferson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by White on the road and fell 57-14. While losing is never fun, Jefferson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1374th, while White is ranked 118th).
Adamson has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Jefferson, they bumped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Adamson was able to grind out a solid win over Jefferson when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 69-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Adamson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
