After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Springfield, Cotopaxi was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Lake County Panthers as the Cotopaxi Pirates made off with a 45-23 win. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Cotopaxi's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allisyn Gasseling, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. Those 15 points gave Gasseling a new career-high. Kelsey Teter was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Cotopaxi is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Lake County and nudges their season record down to 7-13.

Looking ahead, Cotopaxi will venture away from home to take on Cripple Creek-Victor at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Cripple Creek-Victor: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Cotopaxi has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road. As for Lake County, they will host Arrupe Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
