After a string of nine wins, Leon's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Mosley Dolphins by a score of 56-54. The Lions lost against the Dolphins in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 69-45 score last time.

Leon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was DeKendrick Williams, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points. Aaron Pensel was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 17 points.

Leading Mosley to victory were Eli Mcfatter and Isaiah Smith. Mcfatter went 8 of 14 en route to 29 points and five rebounds, while Smith went 8 for 10 on his way to 22 points and six boards. The game was Mcfatter's sixth in a row with at least ten points.

Leon's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-6. As for Mosley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Leon has already played their next contest, a 71-59 win against Taylor County on the 28th. As for Mosley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 43-37 victory against Rutherford on the 28th.
