Volleyball Recap: Fremont Christian Takes a Loss

If Fremont Christian was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Jewish Community on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors came up short against the Pescadero Vikings on Thursday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-8, 25-21.

Pescadero's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quill Markegard led the charge by getting 16 digs, 13 kills, and four aces. That's the most digs Markegard has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Rodriguez, who had 15 digs and five aces.

Fremont Christian dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Fremont Christian will take on Quarry Lane at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pescadero, they will be playing at home against KIPP San Jose Collegiate at 4:00 p.m. on September 5.
