Recap: Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers vs. Walton Braves
The Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Walton by a score of 60-48 on Saturday. Given Pleasure Ridge Park's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 158th in Kentucky, while Walton is ranked 328th in Florida), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Walton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenzie Lassiter, who scored 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Holden, who scored 11 points.
Walton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Pleasure Ridge Park's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Walton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Pleasure Ridge Park's road trip will continue as they head out to face Jeffersontown at 6:15 p.m. on January 3rd. Walton and Milton will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
