Basketball Game Preview: Pickerington North Panthers vs. Grove City Greyhounds

Pickerington North is 1-9 against Grove City since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pickerington North Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Grove City Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. Pickerington North will be strutting in after a victory while Grove City will be coming in after a loss.

Pickerington North will head into Monday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 21) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Bloom-Carroll 41-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since January 13, 2024.

Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Grove City's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to Reynoldsburg. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Greyhounds came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Raiders are ranked 129th).

Pickerington North pushed their record up to 8-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Grove City, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-3.

Pickerington North was dealt a bruising 59-31 loss at the hands of Grove City in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Pickerington North avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
