Football Game Preview: Logansport Berries vs. Rensselaer Central Bombers

Two dominant backs in Elliot Baldini and Carter Ogborn are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Logansport Berries will head out on the road to face off against the Rensselaer Central Bombers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Logansport and Western were almost perfectly matched up, but Logansport suffered a 35-34 defeat. While the Berries had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Panthers 13-7.

Meanwhile, Rensselaer Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They really took it to the Ingots for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-17 win. The Bombers pushed the score to 36-9 by the end of the third, a deficit the Ingots had little chance of recovering from.

Rensselaer Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Landen Musch and Chris Crouch. Crouch got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Rensselaer Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Logansport, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-2.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Logansport has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 272 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Rensselaer Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 250.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Everything came up roses for Logansport against Rensselaer Central when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 39-6 win. In that game, the Berries amassed a halftime lead of 26-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
