Cumberland Gap's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Middlesboro Yellowjackets as they made off with a 14-8 victory. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

George Capps tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Cumberland Gap got a massive performance out of Noah Meyer, who scored four runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Meyer has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Hudson Harris, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Cumberland Gap kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Cumberland Gap back to even at 10-10. As for Middlesboro, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Cumberland Gap will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellowjackets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday.
