Baseball Recap: Laurel Find Success

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Laurel ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Neshannock Lancers, sneaking past 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Lancers on Monday, they had to take a 9-7 loss.

The team relied heavily on JJ McBride, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of RJ Kissick, who scored two runs while going 3-for-6.

Laurel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

The victory got Laurel back to even at 3-3. As for Neshannock, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coming up, Laurel will head out on the road to face off against Mohawk Area at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Neshannock, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Freedom Area at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
