Recap: Solorio Sun Warriors vs. Tilden Blue Devils

The Solorio Sun Warriors were the 59-25 winner over the Tilden Blue Devils when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Solorio had to suffer through a rough 35-7 loss at the hands of Tilden. While losing is never fun, Solorio can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 493rd, while Tilden is ranked 85th).

Tilden's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daniela Villegas-Sarmiento led the charge by scoring 7 points. Martiana Patton was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.

Solorio's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.3 points per game. As for Tilden, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Solorio will be playing in front of their home fans against Catalyst-Maria at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Catalyst-Maria will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
