Game recap

A 42-point lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter didn't slow down Allen (Texas) as it put 14 more points on the scoreboard to secure its victory over Plano East (Plano, Texas) 56-0.

The Eagles were up 28-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Kyler Murray in the first quarter.

Allen expanded its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. AHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Oliver Pierce touchdown run.

Marcus Ward and Murray ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Panthers. Ward scored two touchdowns on the ground and Murray added two as well.

The Eagles' most effective player was Murray. The sophomore quarterback threw one touchdown.

Allen went into the matchup giving up only 16.2 points per game.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 41-38 win for AHS.

The defeat comes as a step back for Plano East, which notched a 38-17 victory over Marcus in its previous outing. The win was a nice bounce back for the Eagles, which lost to Coppell last week, 27-24.

Plano East (4-1) goes up against McKinney in a 5A Region II District 10 game matchup next week, while Allen (5-1) locks horns with Plano West also in a 5A Region II District 10 game.
