Norfolk Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Catholic Crusaders 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Ambassadors in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won four in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (61-58) Norfolk Christian actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Having lost for the first time this season, Catholic fell to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Norfolk Christian will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Broadwater Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association on the 15th.
