Baseball Recap: Calhoun Academy Gets the Win

On Wednesday Calhoun Academy's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Clarendon Hall Saints. The seven-run effort marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Treven Gebhart looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Crews Felder was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cullen Sightler, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Calhoun Academy's record is now 8-0. As for Clarendon Hall, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Calhoun Academy and Clarendon Hall will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Cavaliers see the field they'll take on Colleton Prep Academy at 6:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Clarendon Hall, their break will end when they face Thomas Sumter Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 13th.
