Softball Recap: South Fulton Red Devils vs. Union City Golden Tornadoes
South Fulton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 21-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Union City Golden Tornadoes. Even if the Red Devils couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Gabi Long led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Bellamy, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
South Fulton's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Union City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Fulton will venture away from home to face off against Gleason at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Union City, they will square off against Dresden at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
