Volleyball Recap: Charlie Bono's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mt. Olive over Litchfield

Mt. Olive lost against Litchfield back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Purple Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Mt. Olive started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-15, 25-22.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlie Bono, who had 14 digs and two assists. Another player making a difference was Bella Lueken, who had 11 digs.

Mt. Olive's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Litchfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-14.

Mt. Olive has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Gillespie on the 7th. As for Litchfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Vandalia on the 9th.
