Basketball Recap: Kennedy Takes a Loss

Kennedy easily dispatched KIPP Denver Collegiate last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Kennedy Commanders fell just short of the DSST: Cedar Falcons by a score of 40-38 on Thursday.

Despite the defeat, Kennedy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Mercedes Gerry posted 12 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Audrinna Aragon, who put up six points and four steals.

DSST: Cedar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amaya Paul, who earned 14 points. Rimaad Vidow was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for DSST: Cedar, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Kennedy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-16 victory against Lincoln on the 7th. As for DSST: Cedar, they have also already played their next contest, a 56-21 win against DSST: Conservatory Green on the 7th.
