Softball Game Preview: Edgewood Cougars vs. Kings Knights

The Edgewood Cougars will face off against the Kings Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Edgewood is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Stebbins by a score of 4-1.

Meanwhile, Kings had already won 24 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 25 on Tuesday. They blew past the Tigers 26-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their two-run performance the game before.

Kings pushed their record up to 25-1 with the win, which was their 29th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Edgewood, their victory bumped their record up to 9-17.

Edgewood couldn't quite finish off Kings when the teams last played back in May of 2023 and fell 3-1. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
