Baseball Game Preview: Del Campo Cougars vs. Placer Hillmen

For the first time this season, Del Campo will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Saturday. They will head out on the road to square off against the Placer Hillmen at 11:00 a.m. Del Campo is looking for their season's first win.

Del Campo is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since March 7, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 9-2 to River City.

Del Campo saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Bieneman, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Jaylen Cuevas also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Placer came up short against Pleasant Grove on Tuesday and fell 8-5.

Devin Knight made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Placer's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Del Campo, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4-1.

Del Campo took their victory against Placer in their previous matchup back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 17-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Del Campo since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
