Basketball Recap: Washburn Takes a Loss

Washburn played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Unaka Rangers, falling 80-43. The Pirates have struggled against the Rangers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Washburn lost, don't look at Matthew Harville. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-12 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds. The game was Harville's third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Clay, who posted eight points.

Washburn's loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Unaka, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-9.

Washburn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Unaka, they will face off against Cosby on Tuesday. Cosby has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
