The Horizon Hawks will challenge the Riverdale Ridge Ravens at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Horizon will be strutting in after a win while Riverdale Ridge will be coming in after a defeat.

Horizon won the last time they faced Skyline and Reese Hudson did her part to make sure it happened again. The Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Falcons on Tuesday with plenty of help from Hudson, who had 15 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Horizon was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 17-25, 24-26, 25-16, 15-13.
Meanwhile, Riverdale Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Prairie View.
Riverdale Ridge took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-21, 26-24.
Horizon's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Riverdale Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Horizon has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 10.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Riverdale Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Horizon took their victory against Riverdale Ridge when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ravens turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
