Baseball Recap: Basalt Takes a Loss

Basalt lost to Coal Ridge back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Longhorns might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 17-4 to the Titans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Parker Sims was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Karson Schneider also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Basalt now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Coal Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

While Basalt had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
