Homewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 last Saturday.

Anne Hope Howell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk).
