Baseball Recap: Medina Makes It Nine in a Row on the Road

While Medina put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Barker. The Mustangs were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Brody Fry and Vinny Gray made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Fry didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Gray pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fry has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. At bat, Fry went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Gray went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three RBI gave Fry a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hadrian Batista, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kolton Fletcher, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Medina hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Barker struck out ten times.

Medina pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Barker, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Medina will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
